Backcountry Albania – Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

Welcome to Backcountry Albania. By booking any of our tours or activities, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before proceeding with your reservation.

2. Booking and Payment

A 20% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your spot on the tour.
• The full payment must be completed no later than 14 days before the tour begins. Alternatively, the remaining balance can be paid in cash at the Backcountry Albania office before the tour starts.
• Payments can be made via bank transfer, credit card, PayPal, or cash, as specified above.

3. Cancellation and Refund Policy

The 20% deposit is non-refundable under any circumstances, regardless of when the tour is canceled.
• Cancellations made more than 30 days before the tour start date will receive a refund of the remaining amount, minus the 20% deposit.
• Cancellations made between 15 and 30 days before the tour start date will receive a 50% refund, minus the 20% deposit.
• Cancellations made less than 14 days before the tour start date are non-refundable.
• No refunds are given for no-shows or if the client leaves the tour before its completion.

4. Health and Safety

Participants must ensure they are physically fit and in good health to take part in our outdoor activities.
• Any medical conditions, allergies, or special requests must be communicated to Backcountry Albania at the time of booking.
• Backcountry Albania reserves the right to refuse participation if a participant is deemed unsuitable for the activity.

5. Insurance

Participants must have travel and health insurance covering outdoor activities, including all mountain activities.
• Backcountry Albania is not responsible for any accidents, injuries, or loss of personal belongings during the tour.

6. Equipment and Clothing

Backcountry Albania provides basic equipment for some activities, which can be rented upon reservation. The client agrees to handle the equipment properly and is responsible for its condition, in collaboration with Backcountry Albania staff.
• Damage or loss of rented equipment will result in additional charges. In the case of new equipment, the client will be required to cover the full cost, while for used equipment, a fee will be charged.

7. Itinerary Changes and Force Majeure

Backcountry Albania reserves the right to change the itineraries due to weather conditions, safety concerns, or other unforeseen circumstances.
• In cases of force majeure (natural disasters, political instability, etc.), tours may be delayed or canceled. Refunds or rescheduling will be offered at Backcountry Albania’s discretion.

8. Liability Waiver

By participating in our tours, you accept the natural risks associated with outdoor activities. Backcountry Albania and its guides are not responsible for any injuries, accidents, or losses that may occur during the tour.

9. Code of Conduct

Participants are expected to respect local communities, wildlife, and other travelers.
• Disruptive behavior, littering, or damage to the environment will result in immediate removal from the tour without a refund.

 

Tour Leader

  1. Leader’s Authority: The tour leader has full authority to manage the tour and make decisions on the ground. Clients are required to follow the leader’s instructions for the safety and smooth operation of the tour.
  2. Exclusion from the Tour: If the tour leader determines that a participant’s presence risks the safety of the group, creates hindrances to the tour, or behaves contrary to the established rules, the leader has the right to remove the participant from the tour without a refund.
  3. Itinerary Changes: The leader reserves the right to modify the tour itinerary or schedule for safety reasons, bad weather, or other unforeseen factors. Changes will be made in the best interest of the group’s well-being.
  4. Client Obligations: Clients are obligated to follow all instructions given by the tour leader and use the recommended equipment. Failure to use safe equipment or ignoring instructions may lead to exclusion.
  5. Group Safety and Welfare: The leader is responsible for the safety and welfare of the entire group. Any behavior that compromises this, such as aggression, disobedience, or the use of prohibited substances, will result in disciplinary measures, including removal from the tour.
  6. First Aid and Emergencies: The leader is trained in first aid and will provide assistance in case of injuries or emergencies. The leader may make decisions regarding evacuation or suspension of the tour for health reasons.
  7. Legal Responsibility: The leader is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or injuries that may occur due to non-compliance with instructions.
